Facebook announced today, October 13th, that it will be banning ads that discourage vaccines, calling vaccine “misinformation” a “hoax.”

This is perhaps one of the most stunning actions by Facebook this year, with the company now taking the active stance that Americans should be vaccinated. Facebook goes on to say, in their statement, that even though the Rona vaccine isn’t available yet, the US should focus on flu vaccines until that time comes.

Facebook will join the government and take an active role in vaccination campaigns to encourage mass vaccination. Wait, what?

The policy is written by Kang Xing-Jin and Rob Leathern at Facebook. Xing-Jin is Facebook’s Head of Health and has worked for Zuckerberg since their college days; he has no medical degrees. He studied computer science with Zuck at Harvard.

Facebook’s new vaccination policy

This is a monumental step towards the level of censorship seen in China, but really what are we to do about it? Facebook IS the media and now plays an active governmental role in our lives. Zuck’s college pal will now dictate how Americans receive news about vaccines and which information is available to us. Let that sink in.

Facebook’s entire statement is available via the link, and it reads in part:

“The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of preventive health behaviors. While public health experts agree that we won’t have an approved and widely available COVID-19 vaccine for some time, there are steps that people can take to stay healthy and safe. That includes getting the seasonal flu vaccine. So today we’re announcing new steps as part of our continued work to help support vaccine efforts. These include:

“Launching a new flu vaccine information campaign on Facebook, including new product features that provide additional vaccine-related content

“Rejecting ads globally that discourage people from getting a vaccine

“Working with global health partners on campaigns to increase immunization rates.”
