In the American state of Colorado on Thursday, December 30, was declared emergency mode due to natural fires, which intensified due to strong winds. This was announced by the Governor of the state Jared Polis.

“The Governor has declared an emergency situation in connection with the fact that vegetation is burning in Boulder County”, – said in a statement.

It is noted that the emergency mode, will allow the state to access disaster relief funds, as well as to quickly deploy regional resources, including the use of soldiers of the U.S. National Guard.

Several evacuation centers are currently deployed throughout Boulder.

Evacuation orders have been issued for a number of communities in the county, including Louisville, which has a population of about 21,000, and Superior, which has a population of about 13,000. Louisville and Superior are located near the administrative center of Colorado city of Denver.

Wind speed is expected to decrease noticeably by evening. Its strongest gust of about 44.7 m / s was recorded in the vicinity of Denver.

Earlier in September, U.S. President Joe Biden estimated the damage from the consequences of natural disasters in 2021 in the U.S. more than $100 billion.

The American leader said that he saw with his own eyes the consequences of the Caldor forest fire in California. He also visited Louisiana, New York and New Jersey, where he assessed the damage from Hurricane Ida.

According to the American leader, natural disasters will occur more often. At the same time, he emphasized that climate change is caused by human activity.

USA – One lucky woman from the United States met her good fortune when she became a participant in a lottery for vaccinated citizens. Her life was turned upside down when she found out that she had won a million dollars in this unusual lottery created to encourage vaccination and health care.

COVID-19 vaccination has become one of the most discussed topics in recent years. Authorities and public health are actively working to encourage the vaccination process, and one such way has been the lottery for the vaccinated. The event is designed to inspire more people to get vaccinated and promote the overall health of the nation.

A mother of many children won a million dollars in the Vaccinee Lottery. Mom of four children Heidi Russell from Colorado has won a million dollars in a lottery for those vaccinated against COVID-19.

In May, Governor Jared Polis announced a lottery in which five vaccinated residents of the state will be able to win such an amount. The money will come from federal funds allocated to the state to increase immunization coverage.

“This prize will really help raise four children …. But I also hope to help others with this money,” CBS television reported the winner as saying.

Other family members are also counting on the fact that they can usefully spend part of the winnings. Thus, according to Russell, one of her daughters plans to use the money to pay for her college education.

The US state of Colorado has filed a lawsuit against the US Postal Service for sending misinformation to the state’s voters about voting by mail. This was announced on Saturday, September 12, by the state’s Secretary of State Jenna Griswold.

“We have also requested a temporary injunction against the U.S. Postal Service. Their post cards containing misleading election information are stored in warehouses in Denver and they refuse not to mail them. So we are asking the judge to stop them,” she wrote on Twitter.

So the mailing card says (Griswold posted an example of it on her page) that voters must request ballots by mail in advance and mail them no later than seven days before the presidential election.

The secretary of state’s office noted that Colorado officials will mail out ballots without a request, so the information listed in the mailing is not true.

Earlier on Saturday, US President Donald Trump renewed his call for voters to vote by mail in advance and then, when the polls open, to go and see if the vote is counted, and if not, to vote there. Twitter flagged the head of state’s post with a warning, saying the US president’s call violates the social network’s election rules, but access to it has been maintained because it may be of public interest.

Trump opposes voting by mail in presidential elections. In his opinion, such a voting procedure would make the election corrupt and entail fraud.

The US presidential election is scheduled to take place on November 3, 2020.

Children around the world will be able to get information about the movements of Santa Claus on Christmas night thanks to the American base Peterson in Colorado, which will monitor him. This is reported by The Independent.

Despite a partial shutdown of U.S. government agencies, a military base in Colorado will uphold tradition by continuing to alert children around the world about Santa Claus’ movements on Christmas Eve.

About 1,500 volunteers will gather at the air base Dec. 24 for this purpose. They will answer calls that come in, talk about Santa’s whereabouts and hand out holiday wish lists.

Maj. Todd Walter said the military will use globally deployed radar systems, infrared satellite images and cameras to track Santa around the world.

“We will also use fighter jets to escort Santa,” Walter was quoted as saying by 360 TV.

The military has traditionally been telling children about Santa’s movements since 1955. It began when several kids were trying to find Santa Claus and accidentally dialed the number of the military command center in Colorado Springs because the local newspaper made a printing error.

Then U.S. Army Col. Harry Shoup ordered operators to track down information about Santa and provide it to every child who called.

Colorado, USA – Residents of more than 825 homes are displaced by rapidly spreading wildfires that have engulfed a large area across Colorado. Hundreds of families have found themselves in an emergency evacuation situation, facing the threat of losing their homes and possessions.

The fire has covered the territory of 1 thousand hectares. Over the past two days, the area has doubled. This was announced by representatives of the local fire department on Tuesday, June 5.

The spread of the fire is facilitated by hot weather, the air temperature in the region has settled at 30 and more degrees, notes TASS.

Local authorities decided on mass evacuation due to the proximity of the fire to populated areas. Emergency services are focusing their efforts on fighting the flames, using helicopters and fire brigades to create barriers and stop the fire from spreading.

Firefighters continue to work to extinguish the fire and prevent it from spreading. While the fight continues, it is important to remember safety and follow instructions from emergency responders. Hope for recovery and mutual support remains alive in a community where every step counts.

The COHerald will follow developments and provide up-to-date updates on the wildfire situation in Colorado.

In the neighboring state of New Mexico, wildfires destroyed forests and agricultural plantations on an area of 14.5 thousand hectares.

In late May, more than 2 thousand residents of central Canada were evacuated due to forest fires in the province of Manitoba.
