The Assault Weapons Ban of 2021 has arrived, and the bill is an insult to 2A rights, like most legislation passed this year nationally and in blue states like Colorado, where the Constitution doesn’t matter. Biden’s gun control agenda is an insult to the American people, but it’s passed piece by piece via the legislature and executive orders.
Semi-Automatic Shotguns and any weapons with the capacity to utilize a magazine other than a fixed ammunition magazine and has one or more military characteristics including a pistol grip, a forward grip, a barrel shroud, a threaded barrel, or a folding or telescoping stock will be prohibited under this legislation. AR-15’s are banned under the bill, as are Uzi’s and and AK-47’s.
The bill was introduced by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and thirty-four other Senate Democrats, citing “domestic terrorism” as the reason for the bill. In other words, they’re blaming right wing extremists on their Constitutional infringements; apparently, BLM and Antifa storming the nation’s metro areas with assault rifles, Molotov cocktails, and fire was totally fine. Where Senator Feinstein and her ilk draw the line against guns is when they’re in the hands of anyone but the left.
As New York Post states,
“Democrats frequently use the term ‘domestic terrorism’ to refer to the actions of groups associated with a mob of President Donald Trump supporters who fought police to break into the Capitol and disrupt certification of President Biden’s election victory.”
Existing ten year legislation that spanned from 1994 to 2004 and was introduced by Feinstein banned firearms that had two or more military characteristics. The new bill bans anything that has just one military characteristic.
Feinstein, triggered by the barrel shroud, which protects the user’s hand from rifle-generated heat, has called for banning barrel shrouds in her overreaching legislation. The outright assault on 2A rights is illogical.
At least five million Americans own AR-15’s. In 2018, at least 638,000 Americans owned machine guns, which include M-16’s and Uzi’s. These statistics come before COVID-19 and social justice firearm craze. Forty million more guns were sold in 2020, and January 2021 saw 4.1 million more guns purchased. Smith & Wesson’s CEO estimates that over 40% of gun sales in 2020 went to new owners.
Americans are exercising their Constitutional right to bear arms, and that alarms Democrats…because armed citizens are citizens who can protect themselves against a tyrannical government.
